GIGABYTE X'MAS & New Year Contest is going off, Christian Ney just took some new platform records!

GIGABYTE's new GA-X79-UD3 a sensible mobo choice says Atomic Magazine

Tech geeks over at Atomic Magazine in Australia had a look at the GIGABYTE X79-UD3 board, with latest bios installed of course, and found it a great value board.

Chris took the GIGABYTE X79-UD5 for a spin over at VR Zone and had nothing but praises for it understandably. It’s a ripper board.

The Gigabyte X79-UD5 is a good solid board. It is much improved using later BIOSes and getting better all the time, particularly on the memory side. It has a quality feature list, its efficiency is fine, it’s stable and it looks great.

Intel Announces Performance Tuning Protection Plan: Overclockers Get Some Intel Love

 

Intel has just announced an insurance plan for overclockers that goes above their usual 3 year warranty. Users can purchase a $20-$35 plan (depending on CPU) that offers a single, one time replacement of their CPU for damage due to overclocking. This is a great move by Intel to offer some protection to overclockers who are pushing their CPUs beyond spec.

Processors included in the program:

• Intel Core i7 2700K: $25
• Intel Core i7 2600K: $25
• Intel Core i5 2500K: $20

The great granddaddy of all PC hardware sites, Tom’s Hardware, has just published an article comparing seven X79 boards in the $260-320 price segment, including very own X79-UD3 board. Reviewer Thomas Soderstrom puts all seven boards through their paces comparing overall performance, features sets, overclocking prowess and value for money. We’re absolutely delighted to see that our X79-UD3 has been selected for Tom’s prestigious Approved Award.
