NEC has the first USB-IF certified SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.0) controller chip and semiaccurate.com reports that they have just announced total shipments of 3 million parts over the past 6 months. The good news is that Gigabyte is on track to make our target of 1 million USB 3.0 mobos shipped by the end of Q1, 2010 – 1/3 of the USB platforms out there are based on Gigabyte mobos!
